Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 11th December 2024


These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the services and website provided by Edit HQ ("we," "our," or "us").  By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.


1.  Services Provided


Edit HQ offers editing, proofreading, document design, and related services for individuals and businesses, including but not limited to copyediting, proofreading, document design, presentation preparation, and translation transformation.


2. Client Responsibilities


Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete information when requesting a quote or submitting work for editing. This includes your contact details, project requirements, and any necessary files.


Ownership of Content: You confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to all content submitted to Edit HQ for editing or proofreading. You are responsible for ensuring that any content provided does not infringe upon any intellectual property rights or violate any laws.


Approval of Work: After receiving edited work, it is your responsibility to review and approve the final content. If revisions are requested, you must provide clear instructions for any changes.


3. Pricing and Payment


Pricing: Our services are charged on an hourly or project basis, with guide prices available upon request. Specific quotes will be provided based on the scope and complexity of the work.  Rates are aligned with industry standards for Australian Copywriters, unless otherwise agreed upon.


Turnaround Time: Typical turnaround times vary based on project scope. Generally, proofreading or copyediting is completed within 10 business days. Larger or more complex projects may require additional time. Specific deadlines can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.


Rush Fees: A 24-hour rush fee of approximately 25% applies for expedited services, depending on the project’s deadline and complexity. Please contact us directly to confirm availability and pricing for urgent projects.


Payment Terms: To secure your project in our schedule, we require a 50% upfront, non-refundable payment. The remaining 50% is due upon project completion, no later than 10 business days after the first draft is delivered. We accept payments via PayPal and bank transfer. Invoices are sent via email. A late fee of 1.5% per month will apply to overdue invoices.


Late Payments: If payment is not received within 7 days of the invoice date, we reserve the right to suspend further services and charge a late fee as specified in the invoice.


4. Confidentiality


We respect your privacy and confidentiality. Any content provided to us will be treated as confidential and will not be shared with third parties, except as necessary to provide our services or if required by law. We take reasonable precautions to protect your data and ensure its security.


5. Revisions and Amendments


Revisions: We offer revisions to the work provided, but these must be requested within 10 days of delivery. Revisions will be limited to the scope of the original project. Additional revisions or requests outside the original scope may incur additional charges.


Amendments to the Terms: Edit HQ reserves the right to update or amend these Terms at any time. Any changes will be reflected on this page, with the updated date noted at the top. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.


6. Intellectual Property Rights


Ownership of Edited Work: Upon full payment for services, the edited or proofread material becomes your property. However, we retain the right to use the work for promotional purposes, such as portfolio displays or case studies, unless otherwise agreed.


Use of Materials: You agree not to use the edited materials in any way that violates copyright laws, infringes upon intellectual property rights, or otherwise violates any laws or regulations.


7. Limitation of Liability


Edit HQ will make every reasonable effort to provide high-quality services. However, we do not guarantee the absence of errors or that our work will meet all of your expectations. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the services provided. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services.


8. Termination of Services


Either party may terminate the services at any time by providing written notice. In the event of termination, you will be billed for the services rendered up until the point of termination. If you choose to cancel a project before it is completed, any work completed up to that point will be charged accordingly.


9. Dispute Resolution


In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the issue amicably through communication. If a resolution cannot be reached, both parties agree to resolve any disputes through mediation or arbitration, in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia.


10. Governing Law


These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.  By using our services, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Victoria, Australia for any legal actions.


11. Force Majeure


Edit HQ will not be held responsible for any delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of nature, war, government restrictions, or technical issues.

Return and Refund Policy

At Edit HQ, we strive to provide the highest quality editing and proofreading services. If you are not satisfied with the services provided, please let us know within 7 days of receiving your edited work. We will work with you to address any concerns or make reasonable revisions as needed.

Refunds: Due to the nature of our services, we do not offer refunds once the work has been completed and delivered. However, if the work does not meet the agreed-upon specifications or quality standards, we will offer revisions to ensure your satisfaction.

Revisions: We provide one round of free revisions, which should be requested within 7 days of receiving the final deliverable. Any additional revisions may be subject to extra charges.
